While at the MMU library we were able to have a browse through the special collections. It was a really good experience to be able to have a rummage through the masses of books on shelves, not knowing what you might find. There, I found a book by Sara Fanelli whose work stood out for me and I’m sure I’ve seen her work before. You wasn’t allowed to use pen there so I’d drummed the name into my head so I could look at her work when I got home (I know the name now!). The book was called It’s Dreamtime, the cover bathed in a night sky glow. They’re collages with a real surreal twist and quite intricate and fascinating to look at. The night time, space feeling is really visible and that’s something I can definetely work on adding to my glow-in-the-dark sky world of my picture book.
