I’ve been looking at Oliver Jeffers’ work, particularly How to Catch a Star and The Way Back Home for the starry night sky imagery. I love his night skys here, they’re like watercolour blankets, so cosy. I’m also really fond of his Moon and stars, they’re so characterful and like characters themselves. Shape is important here and all the stars look different which gives them that individual personality. I love the different tones in the night sky, the colour is so stunning, just like the real night sky.
